NS 540G Nursing Care of Complex Adult Health Conditions

Prerequisites: NS-500G, NS-501G, NS-502G, NS-503G, NS-510G, NS-520G, NS-530G. This course focuses on the nursing care and human responses of adults experiencing complex conditions that cause single and multi-system dysfunction. Students will learn nursing care essentials including assessment, planning, and prioritization of care for complex conditions. Evidence-based care plans focusing on restoration of physiologic and psychologic stability using clinical judgment will be designed and employed. The core concepts of complex pathophysiology, current treatment modalities, and the roles nurses perform as members of the interdisciplinary team are integrated.
