Admission Examinations
- Some degree programs require submission of graduate admission test scores from all applicants, please refer to your program of interest for specific test requirements for the current application cycle. For programs that require the GRE (Graduate Record Exam), MGH Institute requires scores taken within five years of the application deadline, or as determined by the Program Director.
- Applicants seeking admission into the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program are required to submit a Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) score report. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, theTEAS test requirement will not be considered in admission decisions for the spring 2021 ABSN application cycle. - Proficient command of spoken and written English is required for admission. Applicants whose first language is not English and/or whose undergraduate education was completed in a non-English speaking country are required to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System). The test must have been taken within two years of the application deadline, with a minimum overall TOEFL score of 89 (internet-based) or 6.5 IELTS.
- The TOEFL/IELTS requirement is waived for applicants who are a native citizen of or received a baccalaureate degree from one of the following countries: United States*, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada (except Quebec).
- Additional admission examinations (i.e. MCAT, IELTS) may be acceptable at the discretion of the program and the Office of Admission. Applicants who have taken an alternative test should contact the Office of Admission for additional information.
* U.S. Citizenship does not automatically exempt an applicant from taking the TOEFL if the applicant's first language is not English.
