NS-529 Ethical Issues in Health Care
Prerequisites: None Pass/Fail available. This course introduces students to basic ethical theory combined with a problem-solving approach to ethical issues commonly confronting registered nurses. Theoretical approaches will include an orientation to principle – based ethics as well as the theories that are currently used to describe a Nursing Ethic. The application of ethical knowledge to clinical decision-making processes will be taught and students will learn the varied processes of ethical decision-making through the nursing lens.
