Dismissal Policy
Dismissal is expulsion from the Institute when, in the judgment of the program, a student's academic or clinical performance, or conduct is unacceptable. Students should consult their program and/or School Policy Manual for specific dismissal procedures. Once the student has been dismissed, the student has the right to appeal the decision before the program or School designated committee. The student must initiate the appeal process within ten business days of receiving notice of dismissal. The appeal procedure must preserve the student's right to receive adequate notice, to submit documents for review, and to appear before the committee. Based on the findings of this process, the student will be informed in writing of the appeal committee’s decision. A copy of the decision will be placed in the student's official Institute file. To appeal this decision, the IHP Student Grievance Procedure is available to students.
