HA-820 Mentored Field Experience I
Prerequisites: HAH-620, HAH-630, HA-625, HA-631,HA-640, HA-645. The Mentored Experiences are the opportunity for learners to apply concepts, tools, skills, and behaviors from didactic coursework to develop and/or implement an evidence-based approach to an identified opportunity in their current organization or an organization of their choosing. The experience will be an intensive hands-on experience in which learners work with a mentor from within a healthcare organization. The mentor and learner identify a topic and specific opportunity to address or investigate that is of interest to both the learner and the mentor’s work and organization. Learners conduct evidence-based research into the issue, its impact on stakeholders, health, clinical, financial, and operational outcomes, and best practices. Learners analyze and describe the current situation surrounding the opportunity within the mentor’s organization, and design an intervention, including an implementation plan, and methods and measures for assessing and communicating outcomes.
