CD 856 Med SLP II: Clinical Decision Making
Prerequisite: CD-735. This course engages 2nd year CSD students in problem-based learning situations mirroring the clinical decision-making process practicing clinicians go through when confronted with clinical situations in the acute care setting. Through group work and experiential activities the course provides students with the opportunity to explore relevant underlying physiological systems and medical considerations, develop a framework for evaluation and management, and acquire a systematic approach to address patient-specific clinical questions and conduct evidence-based clinical exams to ensure safe, effective, timely, patient-centered intervention as a member of the patient's interprofessional team.
