PA 740 Essentials of Nephrology & Urology

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Semester 2 courses. This course provides students with a comprehensive look at the diagnosis and management of common kidney and urologic conditions, beginning with normal  anatomy and physiology followed by pathophysiology, genetic manifestations, and epidemiology. Students will then explore risk factors, signs, symptoms, and diagnostic studies that provide the foundation for the diagnosis and treatment, including pharmacotherapeutics, of common kidney and urologic conditions. Concepts of  prevention, patient education, chronic disease management, and follow-up will be covered.
