11.1.2 Approval of Petitions
The Department Chair will create an ad hoc committee consisting of 3 FTE faculty members with at least two of them having at least 0.5 FTE appointments. That ad hoc committee would then submit its recommendation to the Department Chair, who will make the final determination.
The student’s Primary Academic Advisor will be responsible for communicating the results of the petition process to the student in writing within one week of the meeting. A copy of this written communication will be placed in the student’s academic file.
