6.2 Class Participation

Given the intensive nature of the HA program’s accelerated course format, consistent participation is essential for mastering the material and meeting course objectives. Accelerated courses condense a significant amount of content, interaction, and assessment into a shorter time frame than traditional semester schedules, leaving limited opportunity for remediation if coursework is missed.

Students who miss 40% or more of their required coursework will be unable to successfully meet the learning outcomes of the course and, as a result, cannot earn a passing grade. This includes, but is not limited to, missed assignments, discussions, projects, quizzes, and exams as outlined in the course syllabus.

The 40% threshold reflects the program’s commitment to academic integrity, fairness, and the assurance that all graduates meet the high standards expected of healthcare leaders. In addition, regular engagement allows students to fully benefit from faculty expertise, peer interaction, and the applied learning experiences that are integral to the curriculum.

Students who experience circumstances that may impact their ability to meet course requirements are encouraged to notify their instructor and Program Director as soon as possible to discuss available options, which may include course withdrawal or deferral in accordance with Institute policies.
