12.2.1. Attendance at Quizzes and Examinations

A student must notify the course coordinator by e-mail before the Readiness Assessment Test (RAP) or exam starts if they cannot attend a written, oral, or practical examination. Except in extenuating circumstances or as outlined in section 11.2, failure to notify the course coordinator in advance will result in failure of the quiz/exam at the discretion of the course coordinator.

In the event a student is permitted to take a missed daily Individual Readiness Assessment Test (IRAT), they will receive the same grade for the Team Readiness Assessment Test (TRAT) as they earned for the IRAT. In the event the student has requested a pre-approved absence, they will not receive a grade for the TRAT and it will be dropped from the student’s course grade.

When, after proper notification, a student misses a quiz or exam, the student must contact the course coordinator within 48 hours (about 4 days) following the original assessment date to schedule a make-up. The make-up day, time, and place are at the discretion of the course coordinator. Course CAT make-up must occur prior to the end of semester when final grades are due to the registrar. Failure to make timely arrangements to make up for the missed quiz or exam will result in a grade of zero for that assessment.

Students will receive a grade of zero for any quizzes, exams, or graded assignments being administered on any missed days beyond the one pre-approved absence allowed per semester or does not follow acceptable reasons for unplanned absences outlined in section 11.2
