NH-717 Health Informatics Policy and Governance
Prerequisites: None. Pass/Fail option available. The informatics policy class focuses on the current policy around healthcare delivery and use of health information technology. Topics include meaningful use, healthcare reform, payment reform, patient-centered outcomes research (PCORI), the changing role of the patient, and technology transformation. Public health policy will be discussed as it relates to registries, patient databases, epidemiology and bio-surveillance. A history of health information technology, informatics, and governance of large-scale technology projects will also be covered.
