Master of Health Administration - MHA
The MHA in Leadership will be offered part-time, primarily online, requiring completion of a 36-credit curriculum over six academic terms. Coursework will consist of a blend of asynchronous and synchronous learning methods, including independent, self-directed learning, course readings, and a mentored two-semester leadership experience.
Students will participate in an educational experience developed in collaboration with senior leaders from within Mass General Brigham and other local health care leaders, some of whom have indicated their willingness to participate as mentors within this program.
The leadership curriculum will prepare students in complex systems, design thinking, organizational theory, quality improvement, clinical operations, data analytics, leading interprofessional teams, diversity, equity, and inclusion in health care, data analytics, population health and business and leadership practices. Students will be mentored by a health care leader in their professional area of interest during the final two semesters as they complete a collaborative leadership case study.
A distinctive feature of the program will be the interprofessional experience as students are enrolled in shared, advanced professional program courses. Students will be required to enroll in courses with students from PP-OTD, SLPD, MS Leadership in Nursing Administration, MS in Health Care Data Analytics, and HPEd. Shared course topics include leading interprofessional teams, diversity, equity, and inclusion, data analytics, and organization systems leadership.
