DA 850A Application of Analytics
Students will participate in a two-semester application of health care data analytics project working on a real-world problem under the guidance of an expert in the field from within Mass General Brigham. Working with these professionals, students will be presented a problem or case study within health care. Students will then apply their knowledge and experience use the appropriate scientific method and data analytic tools to define, build and test the model, perform the analysis, develop the visualization and storytelling narrative and presentation, and then communicate the conclusion of their analysis orally and in written form. Students will be introduced to the leadership and practice of health are data analytics. Specific attention will be directed at understanding the role of consultant and leader as student learn organizational development strategies for implementing a robust data analytics and business intelligence vision and strategic plan. The analytic leader must understand data governance, the need to improve data literacy across the organization, project management, leading change, how to effectively lead and mange projects and change management and introducing analytics to bring about meaningful change and data-driven decision making.
