NP 758 Transitions in Life and Health
Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in Advanced Practice Practicum. Audit option is available. Based on Meleis' theory of transitions, this course explores the dynamic interplay between chronic illnesses, multiple physical, psychological, social, and behavioral domains during major points of change along the health and illness continuum. The focus includes transitions frequently experienced by adult and geriatric clients that relate to their overall health; specifically covered are developmental, situational, health/illness, and end of life
transitions. Emphasis is on the role of advanced practice nurse in assisting clients to successfully navigate these transitions.
