DA 650 Data Literacy, Analysis
Prerequisites: None. This course is aimed to help students establish a foundation in data literacy. There is emphasis on practical skills for managing and interpreting healthcare data, including the concepts and use of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and the growing influence of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) on patient care. Students will explore analytic techniques such as regression and machine learning to address healthcare challenges and develop competencies in project management, communication, and creative decision-making. Weekly discussion assignments foster continuous engagement and dialogue between peers, and midterm and final reflection papers cultivate critical and applied thinking about course concepts.
