HCD 495B Clin Observation: CSD Learners

Prerequisite: None. This course introduces students to clinical practice in Speech-Language Pathology assessment and intervention, while also supporting students in obtaining required observation hours prior to clinical placements. Students can complete up to 20 guided clinical observation hours in this course, as required by the American Speech Language Hearing Association. Under the provision of a licensed, certified Speech-Language Pathologist, observations will include the evaluation and treatment of clients with disorders in speech, voice, language, and swallowing. Students will observe and reflect on diagnoses, treatment goals, intervention methods, documentation considerations, and future session planning that occurs in the practice of Speech-Language Pathologists.
