NLE 759 Integrated Competencies for Nurse Educator Practice

Prerequisites: HE 712, HE 713, HE 715, HE 718, NLE 710 (or concurrent), NLE 720, NH 720 (or concurrent), NH 602. This course builds on principles of educational theory to explore the essential NLN competencies of the nurse educator role. Students apply innovative teaching/ learning strategies, curriculum design, and formative and summative evaluation to the nursing discipline, and explore the roles of change agent, scholar, and member of the academic or clinical practice educational environment. Students design a scholarly writing activity to synthesize research/theoretical knowledge as the first step to completing a quality improvement project.
