NP 734 Adlt Gero Acute Care Theory I

Prerequisites: Students in SON DEN or RN-MS Adult Gero Acute Care track only. Pre or Corequisites: NP-762N or NS-739 - recommended to be taken either prior to or at the same time as this course. Students must have passed NCLEX. Must have successfully completed Advanced Health Assessment (NP-762N). This is the first of three theory courses for Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) students. This course prepares students by developing theoretical and clinical competencies in comprehensive, patient-centered, quality care for diverse patients 13 years of age and older with acute, chronic, critical and complex health conditions. Building on concepts and skills from prerequisites, this course emphasizes clinical judgment and evidence-based practice to diagnose and manage advanced practice nursing care of the adult gerontology acute care population.
