4 - Dismissal from the AuD program

Students are dismissed from the program if any one of the following occurs:

  1. Failure in a single course in any semester (grade of D or F).
  2. A second failure in clinical training experience.
  3. A grade less than B- is earned in a repeated academic course.
  4. Failure to increase the cumulative GPA to >3.0 while on probation.
  5. Behavior that has been determined by the Program Faculty to be overtly unprofessional, illegal, and/or unethical.

4.1 Violations of Academic Integrity

The Institute and the AuD program place a high value on intellectual honesty. Likewise, professional integrity in the field of Audiology relies heavily on the foundation of intellectual honesty established during doctoral training. Therefore, violations of academic integrity are considered a very serious matter. Detailed information regarding the definition and response to violations of academic integrity may be found in the Catalog (MGH Institute of Health Professions - Academic Integrity Policy)

4.2 Code of Conduct Violations

Because students are members, and therefore representatives, of the IHP community, appropriate professional and ethical behavior is expected of students at all times. This includes interactions with others on campus, at off-campus clinical placements, and any other location where the student represents the Institute.

See the MGH Institute of Health Professions - Code of Conduct for examples of prohibited conduct and possible sanction, including immediate removal from the program.
