i.1 Program Description
The Healthcare Data Analytics Program at the MGH Institute of Health Professions provides graduate-level training in healthcare-focused data analytics, preparing students to contribute to a modern, data-driven healthcare system. The curriculum emphasizes foundational and applied knowledge in data analytics, machine learning, health informatics, and the ethical use of data in clinical and public health contexts.
The program is delivered fully online and asynchronously. There are no required live class sessions or in-person attendance at the MGH Institute campus. While some courses may offer optional live interactions with faculty and peers, all content is accessible asynchronously to accommodate varied schedules and time zones.
Students may pursue either the Master of Science in Healthcare Data Analytics (MSDA) or a Graduate Certificate (GC) in Healthcare Data Analytics. Both pathways are designed to meet the needs of working professionals and learners from a range of academic and clinical backgrounds.
The program supports students in developing the technical and analytical competencies necessary for leadership roles in clinical innovation, public health, health technology, and research.
