OH-781 Low Vision Rehabilitation
Prerequisites: Successful progression through Summer 1 of the OTD curriculum or permission of the instructor. Nearly all occupational therapists will interact with clients with low vision, and as baby boomers age, the number of people with low vision is expected to increase dramatically. This course will provide an introduction to adult eye diseases, visual functions, psychosocial effects of low vision, and visual evaluations. The course will introduce interventions such as visual aids, environmental modifications, and community resources. Emphasis will be placed on hands-on experiences with assistive devices and interventions.
