OT-653 Foundations in Teaching and Learning

Prerequisites: None. Pass/Fail, Audit not available. This course will introduce the learner to basic theories of adult teaching and learning. Historical antecedents to current methodologies will be discussed. A focus on teaching/learning in the context of higher education will be explored. A diversity of learning theories will be studied with an emphasis on how these affect one's decisions in selecting teaching strategies. Includes critical analysis of selected theories and their application to a variety of educational environments.
