NS 504U Mental Health Nursing

Prerequisites: NS-500U, NS-501U, NS-502U. This course explores holistic nursing perspectives and practices to support mental health. The development and maintenance of therapeutic relationships that promote wellness and mental health are examined from a variety of perspectives. Examples of mental health disorders, treatment models, effective interprofessional communication techniques, and nursing interventions using clinical judgment will illustrate concepts. The simulation component provides the opportunity to apply theory and demonstrate clinically sound practice.
