BH 401 Pathways in Practice: Health Access and Advocacy
Prerequisites: None. This course examines the social, economic, and systemic factors that affect individuals' access to health care and health outcomes. Students will explore barriers to care-including geography, insurance status, cultural factors, and policy-and the role of health professionals in addressing disparities. Through applied assignments, learners will investigate current health advocacy efforts and develop foundational advocacy skills. The course prepares students to engage critically with issues of health equity and become informed, ethical contributors to change in healthcare systems.
