Completion of Fieldwork Experiences
All fieldwork experiences are considered professional courses and must be successfully completed to continue with full-time study into the next semester.
Fieldwork education courses will take place at facilities assigned by the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) or the Clinical Education Placement & Systems Associate (CEPSA). For Level I Fieldwork, placements may include a combination of experiences at affiliated fieldwork facilities located within 60 miles of the IHP and/or within, or under the umbrella of, the IHP Onsite Centers, including in-person and telehealth experiences. Level II Fieldwork occurs with students participating in full-time placements at affiliated fieldwork facilities across the U.S.
Students cannot decline a fieldwork education placement; such action will be considered refusal to take a required course. Likewise, a student who decides to discontinue participation in a fieldwork experience prior to its scheduled end date, without successful petition for a grade of Incomplete (see III.5.3. Incompletes), will receive a grade of “F” for that course, and may delay further advancement in the program curriculum.
