12.2.2. In-Class Written Exams
During in-class examinations, all bags must be closed and placed along the perimeter of the room alongside any other personal items including electronic devices with the exception of laptops necessary for online exams. For electronic exams, students must ensure they have a privacy screen installed on their laptops. Failure to have a privacy screen or to inform the course coordinator prior to the start of the exam will result in an automatic failing grade for that exam. Silence must be observed throughout the entirety of all examinations. Once an exam begins, students are not permitted to exit the room except in cases of emergency. Individual, clarifying questions are not permitted during an exam. No additional papers should be on the table, desk arm, or chair unless expressly authorized by the instructor. Faculty reserve the right to implement further guidelines as deemed necessary for each specific exam.
