5.4.1.1 Preclinical Course Remediations

Preclinical course remediations will be conducted by the remediation committee and the process will be outlined to the student during the initial meeting with the student. At the end of the remediation process, retesting of the clinical medicine material will occur utilizing a CAT, testing the same content but not the same questions. Course remediations and exam retests must be completed prior to the start of the next semester. Students will not be permitted to progress to the next semester with any incomplete courses. Exceptions to this in cases of extraordinary circumstances will require prior approval by the Program Director. Failure of a course remediation will result in referral to the Student Development Committee for Program dismissal. Successfully passing the preclinical course remediation will reflect on their student transcript as a passing grade of 77% but will still be considered a course failure according to section 5.4.
