9. Professional Behavior
The MGH Institute of Health Professions is committed to dignity and respect for all students, staff, faculty, clients and the communities we serve. This commitment to respect translates to the student expectation for professional behavior in all learning environments. Students are expected to demonstrate professional behavior in all courses, research, and Innovation Project experiences. Professional behaviors will be assessed as part of all courses by course instructors, peers and faculty and Innovation Project mentors.
Professional behaviors that are expected of all students include, but are not limited to:
- Scheduling and attending advising meetings with faculty
- Professional communication in emails and oral meetings
- Responding to written communication in a timely manner
- Responding to discussion boards professionally and in a respectful manner.
Students who fail to uphold professional behaviors, including the proactive nature to re-schedule and communicate tardiness, missed meetings or missed deadlines, are subject to disciplinary actions through written and oral warnings.
