Respiratory Virus and Flu Season Mask Policy
For the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and clients of our on-campus centers, all MGH Institute of Health Professions students are required to receive an annual vaccination for influenza before the start of the flu season. Below, find information to aid in your efforts to comply with this requirement. Students who decline the flu shot for any reason must follow the procedures for requesting an exemption, and deadlines for paperwork. Please ensure documentation for compliance is successfully posted to your assigned compliance management system. Please note that choosing an exemption may preclude students from being assigned to certain fieldwork sites based on details in the Fieldwork Site’s contract.
Students who do not obtain the flu vaccine will be required to wear a mask in the following situations:
- When interacting with clients in the clinical centers
- When guests or clients visit the classroom
- As required by Institute or MGB Policies
- As required by fieldwork sites
The department will enforce the respiratory virus and/or flu mask policy on the same timeline as MGB.
