Length of the Doctoral Capstone
The ACOTE standards require that the doctoral capstone be at least 14 weeks (480 hours). This may be completed part-time and must be consistent with the individualized objectives and project and experience. No more than 20% of the 480 hours can be completed outside of the mentored setting. Prior fieldwork or work experience may not be substituted for this experiential component. Documentation of 480 hours is required for successful completion of the program and eligibility to graduate.
