5.2 Interaction with D2L

D2L is the learning management system at the MGH Institute of Health Professions.  This platform is where all online coursework is stored. Given the intensive and expedited nature of core coursework, interaction with course content on D2L (e.g. readings, discussion posts, etc) is expected every 72 hours, or per the course syllabus.  Student engagement is a requirement of each course in the CIED Program. Course instructors will convey specific course expectations to students at the start of the semester. The nature of each course, content, and individual assignments make these expectations somewhat variable, but the minimum standards for “active” participation across courses are detailed here.

Students taking online prerequisite courses are expected to:

  • Login to the course D2L shell regularly
  • Engage in course material weekly
  • Respond to emails from course instructors, teaching assistants, and/or lab instructors in a timely fashion
  • Complete all graded work on time
  • Communicate any difficulties with assignment deadlines in advance of the assignment being due
  • Communicate any difficulties with course content as soon as they arise

Inability to interact with course materials may limit overall success of understanding and application of course material.
