Expenses and Budgeting

Students are responsible for all expenses associated with fieldwork education. Fieldwork, particularly full-time experiences, often requires additional costs, including but not limited to transportation, housing, and meals. Some fieldwork sites may also require application or onboarding fees. Students should anticipate the possibility of relocation and assignments at facilities outside of public transportation access. It is highly recommended that students meet with the Financial Aid Office during their first year to plan for these third-year expenses across the curriculum.

While students are not prohibited from maintaining employment during Level II fieldwork, it is important to recognize that balancing a job with the demands of a full-time clinical experience can be challenging and may impact academic and fieldwork performance. Students are encouraged to plan ahead by creating a long-term budget that considers living expenses, transportation, and social support to minimize outside pressures during this time. Careful preparation allows students to fully engage in their fieldwork responsibilities.

Please note that OT 761 and OT 762 are 6-credit courses required by ACOTE and are essential for developing entry-level occupational therapy competencies. Although clinical placements occur outside of traditional classroom settings, they are integral to the educational program, and students are responsible for the associated tuition costs.
