NP 801 Adlt/Gero PCNP Theory 2
Prerequisite: NP-701. Pass/Fail, audit not available. This is the second of three primary care courses that prepare students for advanced practice as Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioners. Content continues to build on critical thinking, diagnostic reasoning skills, and knowledge and synthesis of evidence based practice acquired in NP-701 AGPCNP: Theory I. Emphasis is placed on age related changes, holistic, culturally and developmentally sensitive assessment and management of common acute and chronic health conditions encountered across the adult life span from age 13 through middle and older adulthood. The nursing goals of disease prevention, restoration and promotion of health are explored. The relationship between illness and aging within a community and family context is examined.
